These shoes have been on my wish list for awhile. The Pixie was sold out in most of the usual online shoe stores for awhile (in my size) and the Mariel I was afraid to buy because I heard the sizing was a bit small.
To my delight I found that Andra Biani in Newmarket/Auckland CBD stocks a number of the latest-style Jeffrey Campbell shoes. Price-wise it’s comparable when I consider the customs/”import” fees that I keep getting hit with.
The Pixie fits true to size, and they are very comfortable and easy to walk in. They’re not as high as you would think. I love the zip-back. I was tossing between the leather or the suede before deciding that I had enough suede shoes.
The Mariel is a bit of a smaller fit, and I went up half a size (8.5 instead of an 8). I can’t wait to wear these with denim cut-offs and a luxe sweater. The leather beat out the suede again, I thought the leather would be more versatile for a summer shoe.
A couple of snaps of The Pixie on. They are an awesome shoe, and I think there are still some left on Solestruck if you want to snap them up. I’m sure I’ll be wearing them intensely over the next few months.
These past two weeks are chaotic with final projects and assignments due in, with the semester ending very shortly. For those that are wondering the Fashion Without Borders conference was amazing, and speaking on a panel was an incredible experience. I will have more on that later. Normal posting to resume at the end of next week.
