Hey, New York, New York!
I wanted to have more time to tell & share with you details of my trip to New York City; but it looks like I’ve run out of it! Tomorrow I am jumping on a plane and flying over the Pacific Ocean to land on the east coast of the USA! I’ll be staying in a Private Beach & Pool Villas at Trisara for a few days for a wedding, and then flying up to stay in New York for the rest of my 2 week trip (needless to say, it’s the New York part that I am the most excited about – aside from the wedding of course). After that I am also having tours in Scotland which will be more fun as well.
This is my first go at international travel and I can barely contain my nerves and excitement. But my bags are packed, my carry on is ready to go. I’ve got gum, candy, my Filofax and good books and magazines to keep myself entertained on the flight. I’ve organized my trip based on where I want to shop (oh God, I am about to become a weapon of massive consumption – I’m telling you!).
I’m Really Looking Forward Too…
Times Square; Forever21; foreign super markets & television; peanut butter, Lucky Charms; ‘real’ Starbucks; bagels; cupcakes; raw juice bars; Broadway; Central Park; and many boutiques and brands you just cannot buy here in New Zealand!
This one’s for you to answer: What do you think I should do on my first time in NY / (the US in general)!?
I am not totally sure whether I will be able to continue blogging throughout my 2 week trip, but hopefully I’ll be able to get online. Regardless, I’ll be snapping away like a mental tourist and will be happily divulging my travel diary!
Until next time; Bon voyage!
PS: What are the rules with tipping? When do I do it? How much is appropriate?
PPS: US currency feels unreal, I keep having to ask ‘is this real money?!’
