Moochi Winter Dress Week 2011
May 9, 2011 in NZ Fashion
I am a self-professed lover of all things Moochi. They’re a favourite designer of mine out of New Zealand, for reasons that include high quality fabric (and manufacturing) and a timeless aesthetic (they also have a great online store and one of the coolest online newsletters you’ll ever receive). They also put on great customer events to celebrate new collection launches…
One of those events includes Moochi Dress Week, and twice yearly event to celebrate the launch of their seasonal dress collection (summer and winter); and from 8am on Friday the 13 May Moochi launches their winter dress collection.
This Winter’s collection incorporates hand-crafted detail, including pleats, lace, sequins, and velvet (?) decal. The colour pallete is on trend, with black, burgundy, navy, orange and mixed in with softer pink and grey hues. Floaty fabrics make a solid apperance.
The look book styling captures to my general style direction for this winter: Socks with ankle books, and a darker lip colour. These are a few of my favourite looks:
Two dresses in particular catch my eye, the Charm and the Willowy (in navy). They are the kind of dresses you could slip into with a slouchy cardigan in the day time, and dress up with killer heels in the evening.
Moochi, it’s no wonder I love you – and I haven’t even mentioned the free gift with purchase on the dress-week launch which is valued at around $200 with purchases $350+ (sorry if you are not located in New Zealand and this does not apply to you!).
