Awhile back I was sent a baking challenge by the way of of Cadbury and Philadelphia Cream Cheese to celebrate season 3 of New Zealand’s Hottest Home Baker (I watched every episode, by the way). My mission? Cupcakes! Though Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cupcakes were suggested, I wanted to do something a little different – having recently stumbled onto this yummy recipe for frost-less Red Velvet Cupcakes with a cream cheese swirl on the inside (the idea being that the frosting is in the middle). The result was too cute not to share :o)

I made these cupcakes for my friend’s son’s 1st birthday – I figured they’d be perfect as his name is right out of Sesame Street. I used Chocolate Cupcake and Buttercream Icing recipes out of Marian Keyes – Saved by Cake, and improvised with it came to the decorating after browsing through a good 10 or so different ways of putting them together.

This week I discovered Todist, a neat web application that allows you to manage your to-do lists. I used to use TeuxDeux but Todoist has a much greater flexibility, with the option to set deadlines, and categorize items into different lists. It’s awesome!
I couldn’t attend the Evolving Influence conference on Friday, but that didn’t stop me catching up by reading the live blogs of the event. You can read them too over at heartifb.com/. Based on the live blog coverage, my favourites were Gala Darling, Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere and Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast.

This is old, but… Guess what!
I love these bottles that were designed for an energy drink. I’d buy them and put them on display, so cute!
This website was made for cupcake fiends. Photographs and recipe’s side by side.
This is a great video interview with Gary Vaynerchuk about his show Wine Library TV.
“Oh, Wine Library TV is probably the greatest video blog ever created… During mankind.”
I am sure you can relate to this hilarious post on The Four Levels of Social Entrapment.
What’s the Marketing Value of Fashion’s Night Out?
Young girls where running from store to store for free makeup, free samples, free anything, taking them and leaving. They weren’t making purchases; less than 15% of them were buying. And the retailers noticed; a few even complained amongst themselves.
Lady GaGa scandal! The mother of Lina Morgana, a young singer who used to collaborate on songs with Lady GaGa is accusing GaGa of sealing her daughters work and ‘eccentric style.’
